Mass Effect may be the next single-player experience to enter the multiplayer realm. A recent job posting from BioWare on LinkedIn is seeking a Multiplayer Programmer for the Mass Effect franchise.
The job description requires the potential programmer to “ensure the game engine and game systems work reliably and efficiently in a multiplayer environment.”
Continuing, “[Multiplayer Programmers] work with both the front and back ends to take existing single player user experiences and make them multiplayer safe.”
Electronic Arts said in February that something “far-reaching” is coming to Mass Effect in 2011. This sounds just big enough to be it.
While Cinema Blend (our source) didn’t provide a link to the LinkedIn job posting, we’ve managed to find it on BioWare’s official site – which you can find straight through here.
Thanks, Cinema Blend.

Hmm, I can’t say I’m over the moon at the thought of multiplayer in a Mass Effect game, it always felt like a series which really didn’t need it.
Then again it states it utilizes “existing single player” experiences, which sounds more like a co-op thing to me. In that case, I cant see any reason to complaiN!
