BioShock’s changed sufficiently from its original pitch

The BioShock that Irrational Games brought us to know and love isn’t BioShock as it was originally conceived. Like most games, BioShock started out much different in its pitching phase. So different that players were supposed to have “absolute control” with the ability to create and customize weapons with the “only limit” being “their imagination”. There was supposed to be a ‘Story Based Deathmatch’ multiplayer mode, too.

Funny how things change from a pitch to full game, isn’t it? Luckily, Irrational’s posted the first nine pages of their original BioShock pitch to 2K for us to check out on their official site. We’ve got all the pages posted below. It’s an interesting read. Apparently, the game was supposed to “scare the hell out of people”. I see that idea was nixed.
