Split/Second demo now on Xbox LIVE

Update: Looks like it’s live. Queue it up here. (Thanks, Sam)

And once again the power of the Xbox purse locks down yet another exclusive demo.
Then again PS3 owners had some bragging rights for a while with the Battlefield 2 beta.
I can only assume that between Sony and MS they’re paying out enough money for exclusivity for developers/publishers not to publish betas/demos on another system to cover the costs of any potential sales they may get from releasing the beta/demo on both systems.
Actually, betas I understand. They’re just stress testing the servers and the game engine to make sure it can handle a lot of activity. And since betas are known to crash and be very buggy having it be exclusive isn’t really all that great. But a demo, that should be available to everyone as it’s more representative of the final product.
Anyway, the game looks great and I can’t wait to play the demo when it eventually comes out for the PS3 (probably after the game’s release).
Sad but true, Microsoft may be paying good money for these exclusive or previous contents, if you think about it, are a few games that have come so early on Xbox 360 before the PS3 until now
