According to a “trusted source” of JoyStiq‘s, a 2D six-player Castlevania game titled Castlevania: Harmony of Despair is on the way to the Xbox LIVE Arcade.

The 2D multiplayer Xbox LIVE Arcade game is said to feature six-player co-op and a versus, fighting style survival mode.

A pulled post from Never Know Tech says the game is a “Metroidvania” side-scroller, featuring characters from recent Casltevania games, except in tiny GBA-style sprite form. The game’s map can be zoomed out of to see the entire area on screen. I presume that’s for finding friends – or something like that.

The subtitle Harmony of Despair was recently trademarked by Konami in Europe, adding credit to the rumor.
