PS3 Getting MLB.TV Streaming Service
by [@salromano] at 05:58 AM EDT, April 22, 2010 .

Sony Computer Entertainment America is set to reveal a new deal with the MLB today that will allow PlayStation Network users to stream live and archived baseball games on their PlayStation 3.

Of course, the good things in life aren’t free, as isn’t this. To get these games, you’ll have to register for the MLB.TV package, which will set you back $100 for the year.

I think that’s a lot of money, but, if you’re a baseball fan, it’s may be well worth it.

Thanks, Kotaku (via NY Times).

Really no different then the sports packages that DirecTV offers and the price is actually $100 less than what they’re offering.

The total package price for MLB Extra Innings is $211 bucks and that doesn’t include access to archived games so I think the Sony deal is pretty good.

I’m not a baseball fan so this doesn’t get my juices flowing but if they introduced a basketball or football service I’d be interested.
