PlayStation Move Sub-Controller renamed

Sony’s PlayStation Move controller comes in either one or two pieces, depending on what titles you’re playing. You have your standard Move controller with the glowing ball at the top, then you have your sub-controller – containing a D-Pad and navigational buttons for movement.
Until today, that controller was known as the PlayStation Move Sub-Controller. Today, however, it’s received a new name: the Navigation Controller.
The revelation was made thanks to a new filing by Sony at the FCC, where you can also find its official SKU, if anybody’s interested.
Navigation Controller. Much better name than Sub-Controller, isn’t it?

meh, sub-controler its more sample and easy and thats elements are the key for the audience that they are looking for, so i dont think that this name in going to help.
The one thing that really frustrates me about Sony is their lack of clever and innovative product names.
Playstation Network. Playstation Store. Navigation Controller. All of them boring. I would’ve put Playstation 4 in there too but the name is pretty popular and while that might sound like a contradiction I still think they should be more creative with other product/services names other than the console itself.
I think Move will be successful but the biggest mistake they’re making is showing games that seem to have to use two glowing ball controllers. Even on the Playstation Move’s main page is a picture of a guy playing the bow & arrow game holding two Move controllers.
Unless they make the standard package with two Move controllers and two Nav Controllers it could get very frustrating when you get home and realize you need another glowing ball controller in order to play certain games.
@Incredibilistic – what’s wrong with simplicity ? Is “Playstation Network” really worse than “Xbox Live” ? But i can agree on the “Move” name, it could be hmm…better.
I’m okay with Move but Navigation Controller? Yuck. At least Nintendo had some fun and called it a nunchuk.
In the grand scheme of things it’s the content that counts, I just wish Sony wouldn’t go so generic. Xbox Live, XBL Marketplace, Wii Connect; these sound like brand names. Not “Network” and “Store”.
Why not Playstation Link or Playstation On instead of “network” and use the Sony Style store branding and call it Playstation Style.
Naming doesn’t have to always be so cut and dry. It can have a bit of mystery that could draw some interest.
Anyway, that’s just off the top of my head. If I were on their marketing team and had more time I’m sure I could find something better than Network and Store. I think they did okay with Home and Move though. Those are okay.
