Microsoft will be airing a Halo: Reach special live-action short across multiple US and UK television broadcast stations today. The sixty-second short welcomes viewers to witness the “Birth of a Spartan”, as Carter 259, the future leader of Noble Team in Halo: Reach, is transformed from an ordinary young man to a Spartan warrior.
The short will first air on ABC during an episode of V in the US and on Sky Sports 2 in the UK at the full time whistle of the Champions League semi-final tonight. Following these debuts, the short will air across sixteen other television networks, including Comedy Central, Spike TV, Bravo, FX, TNT and TBS.
At midnight tonight, the short will be available on WelcomeNobleTeam.com for everyone to view. Users will also be able to upload a photo of themselves to be transformed into a Spartan III.
Then tomorrow, Xbox LIVE Gold Members an download an extended two minute and thirty second version of the short. This short will also appear in movie theaters along with the opening of Iron Man 2 on May 13.
