Sam Fisher’s latest affair — Splinter Cell: Conviction — is a definite exclusive for Xbox 360. However, in a recent interview with Edge, Ubisoft creative director Max Beland says Splinter Cell will most likely end up on other platforms after the release of Conviction.
“I joined Splinter Cell after the exclusivity deal with Microsoft had already been signed, but there’s no reason why Splinter Cell couldn’t be on the PS3,” Beland told Edge Online.
So does that mean we’ll see Splinter Cell: Conviction on PlayStation 3?
“Conviction? No, because of the exclusivity deal. I know people keep talking about maybe, maybe not, [but] at Ubisoft Montreal I haven’t seen anyone working on PS3 for Conviction.
“[The next game] is open to new deals,” he said. “If Microsoft wants an exclusivity deal, they don’t call me, it’s Yves [Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO] dealing with the business people. But yeah, I guess we could even be a PS3 exclusive if there’s a deal that makes people happy there.”
Splinter Cell: Conviction is set to hit Xbox 360 on April 13, 2010.

The fact that there’s already a Splinter Cell on the PS3 already it doesn’t make any sense for this game to not be on the PS3 but, as he said, Microsoft paid for exclusivity.
I’m still keeping hope alive that they’ll eventually release Conviction for the PS3 or maybe its sequel if they make one. Which will be better since they’ll most likely fix any problems they had with this version and/or include stuff that got left on the cutting room floor.
