Yakuza 3 creator explains movie influence in game
by [@salromano] at 12:53 PM EDT, February 15, 2010 .

Yakuza 3 has a lot of influence from movies, creator Toshihiro Nagoshi has said in the game’s first North American developer diary.

As a kid, Nagoshi would constantly watch movies rather than watch anime or read comic books. When he became a game designer, he wanted to use what he learned from those movies to make his games cinematic. He used what he learned in Yakuza 3, not just in the game, but in the movie posters and commercials, as well.

I’ll let Nagoshi speak for himself. Check out Yakuza 3‘s first developer diary below.
