Sonic 4: New Sonic or Old Sonic?
by [@salromano] at 10:44 AM EDT, February 10, 2010 .

Now that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is officially on the way, there’s been a lot of talk going on about Sonic’s actual appearance in the game. As it’s clearly seen, the Sonic used in Sonic 4 reflects his appearances from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) and Sonic Unleashed.

Sonic from back in the day looked a little different, and a lot are arguing that this retro revival should also revive the blue hedgehog’s retro look.

Two comparison shots can be seen below. What do you think? New Sonic or old Sonic? Personally, I like the old Sonic.

As much as I love the old Sonic, the new Sonic looks better. Now, maybe with the old Sonic, fans woud be happy with while playing this game, so I’m just saying “Whatever works”.

An option to select which Sonic you’d rather play as would be a nice addition.

I short of prefer the newer Sonic he seems to represent the cycle of improving his image for that Sega has kept for the last near twenty years of his existence.
