Here are the real Final Fantasy XIII 360 shots
by [@salromano] at 11:30 PM EDT, February 18, 2010 .

After Square Enix made a slip up and released an altered batch of Final Fantasy XIII shots on Xbox 360, which were actually just the PS3 version with 360 buttons slapped on top of them, the publisher has finally released proper shots.

Honestly, they’re not too pretty.

Here’s one shot we put together just to give you an idea of the difference between the two versions. It seems that while showing lesser detail and brightness, the 360 version also looks to be of a lower resolution, being upscaled to 720p.

This seems to comply with NowGamer’s recent claim that the Xbox 360 version of the game is noticably worse compared to the PS3 version.

Check out more Xbox 360 shots at the gallery. For comparison, PS3 shots can be found here; the shots with the 360 buttons are also PS3 shots with 360 buttons overlapped.

A2C wasn’t done properly by them. Still, the game will turn out to be enjoyable on both ends.

gotta say ps3 looks much better. i’d be surprised if this game didn’t own on the PS. it’s nice to see the flow of crappy ports is starting to change directions.

Blah. They took a much better screenshot for PS3. -.- But couldn’t care less. It still looks awesome on 360 and I don’t care so much about the graphics because the game is awesome itself.

Well, I think we all expected this.
I think it’s nice though that, even though it’s not as good, they released it on the 360 as well so that people without PS3′s could play it.

But obviously, it was just so Square could widen their net and get more sales.

Yea thats for sure…This game is like a no choice for people that only have the 360…or i’m sure most people would come out and buy a PS3 now that they see the 360 can’t stand up to the PS3 power

  9. it was confirmed that these pics were taken from a low res video feed (there was even a Windows mouse pointer in one of the pics, lmao) which was poorly resized, resulting in nasty pixelization

So Square Enix has released dodgy screenshots again even after they released PS3 screenshots with 360 buttons. That is just silly Hitsugaara97.

All of this is pretty worthless until the game is actually released.

But the fact or the matter is that SE had to give something up in order to get this game on the 360. If they truly filled a dual-layer Blu-ray disc (50GB) then there’s no way they could’ve ported the game in its entirety onto 3 DVDs.

Even if the DVDs are dual-layer that’s only 8.5 gigs per disc. For those doing the math that’s about 25 GB between 3 discs.

Having said that I haven’t seen anything that says that the discs will be double-sided. If they’re double-sided and dual-layer then they could fit 17GB on one disc. But that’ll also mean a lot of ejecting and flipping between three discs.

But not to worry, all will be revealed in the coming weeks.
