Dyer: PS3 motion control to have more games than Natal
by [@salromano] at 02:22 PM EDT, February 23, 2010 .

SCEA Senior VP of Publisher Relations, Rob Dyer, has said that PlayStation 3′s upcoming motion controller will par well with its competitors. Not only is this motion controller competing with Wii, but it’s competing with Project Natal, as well. Dyer’s expectations? “We’re going to have a lot more games, a lot more innovation,” he said.

“It’s easier to develop for,” Dyer told IndustryGamers. “You can use the same code base that you currently use for PS3 or 360 or even the Wii in order to get a motion controller game out. You can’t do that with Natal.”

So far the revealed line-up for the PS3 motion controller include LittleBigPlanet, Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, a rumored Heavy Rain and more yet to be announced.

Being easier isn’t the real issue at hand. Even if the Arc is easier to design for won’t matter if MS has a better ROI on Natal and has the better marketing message.

Where Sony really has to work is behind the scenes by working with developers and giving them all the necessary tools and even marketing dollars to produce AAA titles for Arc.

  3. Just talk. They don’t know how many games are being developed with Natal. I don’t see it doing anything extremely innovative and even it does I will still prefer my dual analog controllers. I can’t completely embrace motion controls as much as they might want me to and don’t like the idea that they will have to take away processing power to use the new hardware.
