Download the Heavy Rain demo right now
by [@salromano] at 05:43 AM EDT, February 5, 2010 .

Next week on February 11, Sony will be releasing a demo for their psychological thriller Heavy Rain on the PlayStation Store. There is a way around the wait. You can get the demo right now.

A new promotional website for the game titled “Precinct 52” has been launched today. It’s basically a little game where you have to submit four pieces of evidence for a reward — that being the demo.

The four pieces of evidence are:

• Short cigarette (117b)
• Origami bird
• Coffee shop C (it says “diner”)
• 117h (tyre tracks).

Do that and you’ll get a redemption code to download the demo.

Thanks, Kotaku.

Just checked the site and it’s crashed due to overwhelming demand!! Damn! Oh well, I’ll try back later.

This sounds so great though, thanks for answers to to the evidence puzzle, I’m sure to be trying this site for hours now until I get on!!

    Website Message:

“We are currently working to address some site issues caused by overwhelming demand.
Sincere apologies for the delay, and please check back shortly.”

If nothing else it at least shows the interest people have in the game. After all the videos and negative commentary the game has already received people are still interested in giving this game a test drive.

But maybe everyone, like me, is on the fence and just wants to try it out before laying down their hard earned $60.

  4. I got my code from the site but when I go to enter it in it gives me this message: “The code you entered may not be correct or may no longer be valid.” Sony fail.

Hrm. Looks like this is SCEE only. Just noticed the link at the bottom.

Create an EU account (easy and fast) and then enter the code.

The demo is unexpectedly engaging. Amazon has a good deal on Heavy Rain right now, which I pre-ordered.

Yeah I also found the demo brilliant. It’s very involving and plays perfectly smoothly. It also looks amazing graphically and the story feels like it’s going to be fantastic.

I just know this game is going to be underrated in the long run by the masses, but I for one am extremely excited for it.

Does the demo dive too deep into the story? I’m reluctant to play it because I don’t want to spoil anything when the game actually hits shelves.

It’s mostly just a little taster, about 20 minuites long and with no real story details or anything spoiler laden at all. It basically shows us the controls and mechanics of the game, which I personally think are going to be stunning.

It’s worth a try if you are wanting to see how the game is going to play!
