2K Czech: “No other open world city comes close” to Mafia II’s
by [@salromano] at 03:50 PM EDT, February 1, 2010 .

No city can match that of 2K Czech’s upcoming Mafia II, according to the game’s senior producer Denby Grace.

“As well as the story, the level of detail and realization of the world really is an amazing technical achievement for the team here at 2K Czech,” Grace told IncGamers during a recent interview.

“No other open world city comes close with the texture quality, attention to detail and destructibility of our environments.”

I heard Red Dead Redemption was supposed to have a pretty robust open world. Looks like we’ll have to wait and see just which game’s is better.

Hmm… That’s quite a statement. From the little I have seen it does look quite pretty, and if the environments indeed offer unequaled destructibility it should be solid.

The screenshot is definitely pretty but the only open world game that I’ve really enjoyed of late was inFamous.

The biggest issue for me is going to be the car mechanics. If the car controls anything like GTA they can count on me not getting it. The car controls are the reason I took GTA IV back. If I’m going to spend 50% or more of my time driving the car can’t bounce around like a coffin with bananas for a suspension system.
