PS3 gets DVR titled “Torne” in Japan
Japan’s getting ready to receive the next step in making PlayStation 3 their main home digital entertainment system with new video recording capabilities on the way to the platform.
Announced today, Torne, is a digital video recording kit for PlayStation 3. It is a little box that hooks one end into your cable and the other into your PlayStation 3, allowing you to record TV shows straight to your system’s hard-drive. From the system, users can browse through stations with Sony’s hand-crafted TV guide, transfer videos to their PSP, search terms on the internet while watching a show, and more.
SCEJ also announced today that the 250GB PlayStation 3 will hit Japan on February 18 for ¥34,980. Following this, Torne will launch in March at ¥9,980.
