Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear Solid series and currently working on PSP’s Peace Walker, has told the latest issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine that he’ll soon be moving back to PlayStation 3, presumably once development is complete on Peace Walker.
Kojima has always been involved with the PlayStation brand, developing the fourth installment of the Metal Gear Solid series solely for PlayStation 3. While the next game, Metal Gear Solid: Rising is in development for both PS3 and Xbox 360, Kojima is not directly involved in the game’s development, which is being taken on by a younger team.
While there are no direct quotes from the magazine, Kojima’s apparently inspired to move back to PS3 after playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The only quotes mentioned are, “After seeing Modern Warfare 2, I feel like I want to use all the modern specs!” and when asked why he moved to PSP in the first place, he said “In Japan especially, the most popular hardware with this audience was the PSP.”

More Kojima is always a good thing.
I won’t take too much stock in this. Kojima gets a lot of sudden inspiration after playing a game but I’ve yet to see anything come of it.
Still, it’s nice to see a developer like Kojima come back to the hand that’s fed him for the past 10+ years.
IMO MGS4 is the best PS3 game. Im undecided on MGS Rising. I look forward to whatever comes next.
I’ll be getting Rising for sure, but whether it will on par with the rest of the series is anybody’s guess. Peacewalker looks good though, so that’s one to pick up when it comes out. But as echoed above – I think Kojima’s support on any system is only a good thing!

I’ve been waiting for a new Zone of the Enders for ages.
I really hope Kojima gets to work on that before anything else.
I’ve played alot of mecha games in the past, but none of them compare to Zone of the Enders. Just imagine what Zone of the Enders will look like on PS3.
