Tecmo has announced today that Quantum Theory, the company’s upcoming third-person shooter involving big men and moving towers, is coming to Xbox 360 as well as PlayStation 3. This is odd, considering Tecmo’s earlier words that the game is on PlayStation 3 because it’s the most powerful hardware.

The game puts players in the shoes of a “massive, gun-wielding warrior Syd” paired up with the computer controlled “mysterious acrobatic Filena” fighting through an evil, “Living Tower” with intentions of destroying it. Syd and Filena can work together to do crazy moves and hurdles, it seems.

Quantum Theory also promises four online multiplayer modes, but they’ve yet to be described. The game launches on PS3 and Xbox 360 in Spring 2010.

The good news is that they started this project on the PS3 so the game should look the same on both systems.

I’m sure money had something to do with them bringing the game over to the 360 so I don’t find it the least bit surprising.

Besides, this game rips off of Gears of War so much I doubt anyone will even bother with it. I wasn’t a huge fan of the game before and I doubt my opinion will be altered in any way. Hopefully they’ll release a demo.

BUY THIS GAME! Support true Japanese art gaming! Very cool art noveau/Gaudi-esque art style.
