Final Fantasy XIII hit Japan yesterday. Today, Square Enix has shared sales figures revealing just how many copies of the game were sold on day one. The numbers shouldn’t be too surprising.
According to Square Enix, the game has exceeded one million units sold. They didn’t provide a specific number; only that. Apparently, games sold with the Lightning Edition PlayStation 3 bundle were not included in that figure. Adding in that amount would surely boost the number of copies sold significantly.
Congrats on a successful first day, Final Fantasy XIII. There’s probably still some Lightning edition bundles left if you’re in Japan. Square had originally shipped 1.8 million units, so I’m sure if you look hard, you can find one.

Happy for Square Enix, this will fill up their coffers.
Congratulations to Square Enix on all there efforts for FFXIII. Topping over 1 million on first day is amazing, and it hasn’t even hit US or Europe yet.
I can’t wait for March.
Wow, congrats Square! I am really excited to see how it does in the US. I am dying for it!
