Just Cause 2 will boast some PlayStation 3-specific features, according to developer AVALANCHE, who’s revealed these features at an event in London earlier today. They include the ability to capture video and upload it directly to YouTube; games such as PixelJunk Eden and the Japanese Toro Station have included this feature before.

The full list of features exclusive to the PlayStation 3 version of the game are as follows.

  • Video capture feature
  • Can auto-record/record last 30 seconds of gameplay
  • Manual record up to 10 minutes
  • Can transfer directly to Youtube

Other developers should take note and also implement these features into their games. We want to record, just cause.

Thanks, PlayDevil.

A good idea! I mean its not of use to me as I already have a video capture device, but having such a feature built in would make uploading gameplay to youtube so much easier! It’s a feature I think a lot of developers could adopt.

What do you use for your video capture? Does it capture in HD?

We really need to get one of those. I’m just picky and want HD capturing so we can give you guys the best quality.

Well for myself (youtube etc) I just use a Dazzle DVC100 (one of those USB ones) which doesn’t record in HD.

I hear that the Decklink Intensity Pro is a good HD capture card, but I haven’t used it personally (someone at my work uses one though). I dont know the price of them however, and I think they might be very costly.
