Rare developer George Andreas has said that Xbox 360′s Natal “can create any experience” and that there doesn’t seem to be any boundary in sight so far for the anticipated motion controller.
“When you work on a conventional controller you reach the limitations of that very, very quickly,” Andreas told GamesTM magazine, “From a design perspective you know what it does, you know what the buttons do, and you know how you’re going to interact with the software.”
“The thing that I’ve personally seen over the last nine or ten months working closely with Natal is that boundary just isn’t anywhere in sight yet. It’s a massive ocean of possibilities and it really is going to open up the mind. At the moment we haven’t got anywhere near the limitations of what that hardware will be able to bring to entertainment in the future.”

I’m going to continue to play devil’s advocate on this and cite the fact that no one’s really seen anything from Natal since the show. Conversely Sony has shown at least a few games that show off what their technology is capable of.
Lip service on the open sea of possibilities of Natal sound good but until they materialize into actual software I’ll keep my excitement at bay. Although I was initially excited about it before the more I think about it the more I’m not really sure I’d be all that interested. Again, my biggest concern is losing precise control and having any sort of tactile feedback to let me know I’m actually connecting with the game.
The controller might be limited but when I’m playing Uncharted 2 and have to drag Elena’s partner through the rainy city streets while dodging bullets, I can sense and feel that weight this guy must be. That’s an experience that just won’t be possible with Natal.
That’s not to say that it won’t be cool but, again, I’ll believe this open sea of possibilities when I see it.
