Netflix is coming to PlayStation 3 in November, as was announced this morning. G4TV was kind enough to call up Netflix’s VP of corporate communications Steve Swasey and clear up some details on the PlayStation 3′s service.
HD streaming will be available on PlayStation 3 — just as is for Xbox 360 and PC — all on day one.
As for the biggest difference between PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360′s Netflix services, the disc, Swasey says that this is only temporary. You can get one of these discs for free as long as you’re a subscriber of Netflix. However, Swasey has said Netflix will have an “embedded solution” (application) on PlayStation 3 “at some point,” but couldn’t say when.
As of yet, there’s no set date for next month when Netflix will be available on PS3. However, there’s a page up that will tell you when once it’s announced.

As I said before, the NXE does limit future applications since everything coming will have to match the overall look of the interface while the XMB has the ability to make their Netflix interface look like anything. Maybe even something that closely resembles the website with search capabilities (please, please, PLEASE) and better categorization of films.
I think in the future categories will be better but not yet anyway.
