Natal to start off pricey, will decrease over time

At Microsoft’ Open House held in New York yesterday, Xbox honcho Robbie Bach said that when Natal releases, it will start off at a heavy price and get cheaper as time goes by, like with any console.
“Relative to Natal, we’ll see how the pricing cost works out,” he said. “But people should except that it will go through the usual price curve.”
When will we stop calling the motion controller by it’s codename, Project Natal? “When we tell you to call it something else,” Bach told the audience.

I don’t think this is a good way to start off with this controller. It’s starting to sound a little like Sony’s pitch to consumers when Kuturagi went around telling people that the PS3 was going to be pricey but that people would be willing to get a second job to buy the system.
Natal could probably retail for $100 and still be okay, maybe even $150. Anything over $150 and they’re going to have a hard time convincing someone to buy a 360 at $299 and another device at $150+.
The PSEye is only $32 bucks (at Wal-Mart and Amazon) and my guess is the Sphere controllers will probably go for about $50 a piece (or maybe they’ll bundle two for $75 or something). If Sony’s smart they’ll bundle one Sphere controller with the Eye for $60 to $70 and be the low-cost solution over Natal.
As for the name Natal, I think they’ll stick with it just like they did for the Xbox, which was also a code name. I think they’ll keep the “Project” part of the name as it suggests that it’s always growing and getting better. Like Home Beta.
yeah I hope they just keep the name “Natal”. I mean I am one of the old school who still thinks “Revolution” is a FAR better name than “Wii” for example, lol.
As for the price, I am willing to pay for it but I hope it isn’t a ridiculous amount.
