Casting call for reality show! Quickly read on! Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced a new competitive reality series coming to PlayStation Network only on PS3. The Tester, as they’re calling it, “will follow a group of gamers as they face off in a series of elimination challenges designed to test their mental prowess, dexterity, and video game knowledge and compete to win a gamer’s ultimate dream job – an official PlayStation game tester.”
This is a real reality show and casting calls start today. To enter, submit a video at the official PlayStation website explaining why you think you have what it takes to be a part of the PlayStation family. If you’re selected, you’ll be going head-to-head with other gamers in game-themed challenges which in the end will decide the most dedicated gamer. The winner gets a contract as an official beta tester for PlayStation in San Diego, California.
The Tester debuts this winter.

Good on ya’ Sony! Finally someone at Sony is thinking outside the box a bit. The idea of a reality show isn’t exactly groundbreaking original thinking but it’s definitely something the competition isn’t doing.
It would also be nice if they found a way to tie this into Home to get people logged on and engaged.
Speaking of Home, I was just in there the other day and discovered that there’s a lot to do in Home. The varied clothing options are finally starting to kick in and the ability to buy multiple properties is pretty cool stuff too. Just wish it was faster and somehow better integrated into the overall experience.
Anyway, can’t wait to see the show. Dig on the 1980′s font and design.
