Sengoku-Basara-dmc4

Sengoku BASARA Samurai Heroes has just been recently announced for North America by Capcom. However, actual gameplay of the title hasn’t surfaced until today. Now, Capcom mentioned that Hiroyuki Kobayashi, producer of the Devil May Cry games, will be producing this game as well. No wonder the game is so action-oriented.

I have to say, it looks like a hell lot of fun. Watch for yourself to see what I mean.

Erm, the action barely looks anything like the DMC series, if anything it’s more like the ill-fated PS2 title “Chaos Legion”?

Oh I remember Chaos Legion, I never played it actually but it looked fairly good at the time.

I think this does definately have a DMC like feel to it, but I also get a hint of “Onimusha” about the style.

If there is anything in Basara 3 that is “DMC”-esque, it would be a gauntlet equipped Dante, and the juggling [and limited one at that], but that’s practically where the similarities end [at least from what I'm getting from this trailer].

The camera angle, and action seems to work much more like the Dynasty Warriors series [which this series stole built upon]. DMC combat allows for much change within the combo variation whereas I feel that this series is going to be dial-a-combo like all the others in the past.

It’d be nice change of direction to make the gameplay like DMC, but I’m doubtful of that happening. I’d like to hope the game proves me wrong when it comes out, since Kobayashi did good with DMC3. XD
