It was bound to happen. This week’s issue of Famitsu weekly has confirmed that Square Enix is releasing Star Ocean: The Last Hope on PlayStation 3 as Star Ocean: The Last Hope — International. Shocking, no? Yeah, not really.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope — International seems to stick with the CG models that are used in the Western version of the game rather than the anime models used in the Japanese version of the game. English subtitles will also be present in the game, meaning if you want this and don’t want that just terrible voice acting, the Japanese release can be yours. On top of that, English, Japanese, French, German and other languages are selectable for the voice acting. This PS3 version will also feature a reworked battle system with auto-targeting.

The game’s out February 4, 2010 for ¥8,190 (USD $90) in Japan.

Excellent. The Last Hope is a fantastic RPG and the PS3 release will allow even more people to play it!

Also a plus is the JP voicing, as even though I didn’t mind the the voice acting, a lot of people did.
