Sonic’s 2D rebirth teased in Project Needlemouse

Sega may finally be giving Sonic the Hedgehog fans what they want. Today, Sega revealed a new teaser trailer for a new game their calling Project Needlemosue. The game will debut in 2010 on unnamed consoles.
The trailer starts off with the classic Sonic spin effect, declaring “Speed returns in an all new 2D adventure built from the ground up”.
According to Sega associate brand manager, Ken Balough, this new Sonic game mwill feature HD graphics and very well please “old school Sonic fans” who “have long asked to see Sonic return to a more 2D style of gameplay.”
Right on, Sega.
