Cross-Game Voice Chat hits PS3 October, according to source

According to a source of VG247, Sony Computer Entertainment is currently at work on integrating cross-game voice chat into the next PlayStation 3 firmware update, which will be made available by the end of October.

The firmware is said to be 3.10. Mark this down as a rumor for now.

    I don’t get it. 3.0 is supposed to be a mind-blowing update and we get sparkles. However, 3.10 gets x-game chat. How are sparkles worthy of a 3.0 and x-game is only a 3.1? The sparkles should have been 2.91 or .92. The way Sony names their firmware doesn’t make any sense. :S
