Valve not working on PlayStation 3, at all

Valve is known for it’s unreasonable dislike for Sony’s PlayStation 3 platform, in the past claiming it’s too complicated, etc. However, today they’ve once again clarified that they’re not working on PlayStation 3, at all.
On last night’s episode of GameTrailers TV, Geoff Keighly asked, “Are you guys working on PlayStation 3 here now, trying to understand it, trying to get better at it?”
Valve CEO Gabe Newell responded, “Uh,no. Not in any real way.”
Smashing, isn’t it?

Well what the heck does, “Not in any real way” mean exactly? So they’re working on it in a fake way? An unrealistic way?
In the end it doesn’t really matter. The PS3 continues to survive without Valve’s games and chances are it’ll still do well without any Valve games in the future. But then again, I’m not a Half-Life fan so for me it’s less of an issue than it might be for Valve fans.
Ill paste in my comment from another site=> I have been thinking about this situation for the whole last week. People that feel the need to refuse to adapt, do have that right., But when people blatantly refuse, mostly just because they are afraid to learn a new skill such as hyper threading and just want to stagnate on old technology that they are comfortable with, is not a long term success strategy. Look how creative you valve people have been, why do you want to deprive yourselves at new opportunities. Does someones ex girlfirend work at sony? Do you need someone to hold your hand? Do you want me to hold your little valve hand while I get you more comfortable? You should put this comment on your next powerpoint talk, or do you use an overhead and wax pencils still?
Great post! Really makes you wonder what their real reasons are and why they seem to have such a disdain for the Sony platform. And I doubt very seriously if they’d have this opinion if Sony were in the lead.
But that’s the appeal of Microsoft: they’re giving developers easy tools to make games easily. That should sound like a good thing but how does it really stretch the imagination of the developers to push the hardware and software alike to deliver something no one’s ever seen before. If the PS3 was really that much of a dog to program for games like Killlzone, Uncharted 2, Heavenly Sword, MGS4 and many others wouldn’t be possible.
I’ve always thought of Valve as a PC-oriented company, and I think there’s a lot of truth to it. Though Newell’s comments sound pretty incendiary, I have always gotten the feeling that Valve simply tolerates the Xbox 360. He’s made it clear in past interviews that he believes consoles are incredibly inferior to the PC, which is why Valve will not release the Team Fortress 2 updates to consoles. I think that the reason Valve ports games to the Xbox 360 is because coding for that system is very similar to the PC.
I think it’s very clear that his business strategy isn’t about personal vendettas. Valve may not be working on the PS3, but they’re not working to better understand the Xbox 360 either. It’s all about how easy it is to port over.
I’m sure the Playstation 3 can servive without Left 4 Dead & Left 4 Dead 2.There are way more better games, who cares about Valve.
In the end, the playstation 3 will be the Future. Valve will understand this soon enough LOL.
