An English demo for Final Fantasy XIII would be completely different from the Japanese PlayStation 3 demo where there to be one, producer Yoshinori Kitase has said at GamesCom. He says “if we were to provide the demo overseas, it would be a completely new version.”

They’re not sure whether or not they’re going to be releasing a demo, but if they do, Kitase says “…we are thinking of providing it in a downloadable format,” in opposition to Japan’s blu-ray demo.

Current standings at Square Enix are showing the Japanese PlayStation 3 version of the game well in over ninety percent complete and the Xbox 360 version just over seventy.

Kitase has also said earlier that the Xbox 360 version will most likely appear on three discs. The game releases late this year for Japan, and Spring 2010 for the rest of us.
