Gran Turismo 5 to arrive by Christmas?

According to Gran Turismo gaming site, GTPlanet, “an unofficial but extremely reliable source” has slipped them word on a release date for Gran Turismo 5.

“A 2009 release is almost certain,” the site writes, “and the much-publicized Amazon.com date of December 29, 2009 is incorrect.”

The site says it’s likely the release date will be announced during Sony’s GamesCom conference on August 18th. They throw one last hint at the date suggesting the game will arrive just around the time to fill our Christmas stockings.
