Thanks to the latest Famitsu, we have even more new information on Final Fantasy XIV. Final Fantasy XIV producer, Nobuaki Komoto, said in an earlier interview with Famitsu that, though similar to the races in Final Fantasy XI, the races in the new MMO will be named differently. Those names are in.

Humans are now called Hyuran, and have undergone basically no change. Tarutaru are now Lalafell, and have grown a lot taller in this game. Galkga are now called Roegadyn, losing their tail and gaining size in comparison to XI. Then there are the Miqo’te, which are basically Mithra. Whether or not there are any new races is still unknown.

There are four categories of jobs, with two jobs unveiled for each.

Fighter: Swordsman, Archer
Sorcerer: Enchanter, Warlock
Crafter: Blacksmith, Cook
Gatherer: Gardner, Fisherman

When you make a character, you’ll choose your race and appearance. Customization goes from head, skin color, hair type, and more. Also revealed is that all battles will be in real time and that there will be weapon growth. That’s about all we got from these new scans. We’ll have to wait for GamesCom later this month for more on the game.

We’ll have the high-res scans for you when they hit the internet later on tonight.
