Are you so popular that you need more than 100 friends on Xbox LIVE? Which is as you may already know, the limit for the amount of friends you can have on the service. Some are and some aren’t. However, the 100-limit cap has stayed the way it is thanks to one shooter that brought on a new online gaming age to consoles.
Halo 2 is to blame. According to G4 report, the game’s online activity is still so popular that the game still tops the weekly “Original Xbox Top Live Titles”. However, all that enjoyment of players still going at it on Halo 2 is causing your friend cap to stay at 100.
Apparently, a “high-level Microsoft source” told G4 that thanks to Halo 2‘s popularity, the friend cap hasn’t changed. He wouldn’t go into detail on exactly how, though.
Too bad, popular peoples.

Hmm, I can’t think how Halo 2 would stop MS from changing the friend limit, unless it has something to do with the games’ integrated feature to view your friends list? I really can’t think of any other reason why the game would be to blame for this.
To be honest though, and perhaps veering a bit off topic, I have about 40 or so people on my friends list and sometimes I just can’t bring myself to sign into XBL (I pull out my ethernet cable). People are always sending party and game invites which I have intention of accepting, and it really stops me from becoming in the game I WANT to be playing. Meh, call me antisocial, lol!
* Damn, spelling AND grammor errors, lol.
“I have NO intention of accepting”
“stops me from becoming ENGROSSED in the game”
Sorry!
