2K: Borderlands is an “incredibly strong offering” for Christmas
2K Games have great confidence in their upcoming role-playing shooter, Borderlands, saying that the game is an “incredibly strong offering” for Christmas and can “stand shoulder-to-shoulder” with the likes of Call of Duty and Halo.
The publisher hopes that Borderlands can become more than just a one-time game and evolve into a long-term franchise.
“We think that Borderlands could create an entirely new genre – Role-Playing Shooter. Think of Diablo in a Mad Max world and you’re close.
“Our goal with all new IPs across our publishing label is to create long-standing franchises.”
