This new dashboard update brings more extensive Netflix features, including the ability to add movies to your queue and browse the selection straight from your console, rather than having to use a PC. Also included is the Avatar Marketplace, which involves your money and Microsoft’s digital goods.

As much as it pains me to see all these great updates for the 360 I can’t seem to stop watching videos and footage of it.
The point has been made a million times but what Microsoft excels that Sony completely sucks at is making the PS3 more communal. When you start up the 360 it gives you the feeling of the system being alive with content as well as connecting with other people instantly. When I fire up the PS3 it’s a colder more solitary experience. It’s very cool and clean and neat but so is a museum.
It would be nice if Sony incorporated features that were a little more connected. And I don’t mean Home. Although Home is coming into its own with more community type features and events I bet more than half those that own a PS3 don’t even know what Home is or how to get started.
I won’t piss on the PS3 anymore. I love the system and still think it’s the best value hands-down. But I do get a little green with envy when I see updates like this one and it’s only going to get better with Facebook, Twitter and Natal coming down the pike (I don’t really care about the Last.fm thing but it’s still something the PS3 doesn’t have).
