Since 2005, gamers have been looking forward to the PlayStation 3′s WarDevil: Unleash the Beast Within. In development at Digi-Guys, it’s been accused of vaporware time and time again.

The game’s website currently reads: “More images, trailers & information will be released throughout 2008, before the all-new Wardevil site relaunches.” Considering 2008 is over and not much was released during the year, I’d understand the reason some may think the game’s disappeared.

However, in late 2008, Digi-Guys told Gamecyte: “We’ll be releasing new material in 2009, but when/how is in the hands of our publisher – therefore, we must keep to their schedules.

“WarDevil is progressing to plan – it has a long development process as we’re creating an engine, a game & short movie and each of these elements can take a lot of time on their own.”

The game’s publisher is Ingition Entertainment, the same people publishing King of Fighters XII for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this month. Today, the firm unveiled a revamped new website, which features WarDevil as their cover game. Previously, the game wasn’t listed on the site.

Clicking on the WarDevil link on the Ignition site only brings us to the official WarDevil Site, but the words on the Ignition Teaser, “Coming Soon”, tell us that this game hasn’t gone anywhere at all.
