Sega: Sonic Quality to Be ‘Fixed Over Time’

Sonic the Hedgehog started out his life with a boom, however, titles dating back since the Dreamcast have really brought down the blue hedgehog in terms of quality. Gamers are aching for a return of the old Sonic. Will that quality be restored?
“The quality is something that will be fixed over time.” Sega of America’s VP of Marketing Sean Ratcliffe said. “It’s not something where you wake up one morning and say, ‘You know what, we’re going to improve our quality on this franchise,’ and it magically happens. A lot of hard work goes into striving for quality.”
Good to hear.

As a sonic Fan, I enjoyed Unleashed’s daytimes levels a lot, but I basically hated the Werehog. I am definately up for a return to Sonic’s roots, and its easy done really – Sega just need to stop experimenting with broken gameplay ideas and stick to “speed” and “scale” etc.
You know what gets me? Why does everybody say that Sonic Adventure 2 (well, I’ve only played Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for GameCube) is so bad? Personally that was one of my high moments in Sonic games, beat it twice. If they made another Sonic game like that, I’d be sure to play it.
That was the only good 3D Sonic I’ve played though.
