Bethesda Softworks’ Ashley Cheng has said on his blog that Bungie’s next game can only be published by a few of today’s current publishers. Namely, the big ones.

“You can count on one hand the number of publisher’s around who can afford to publish Bungie’s next game: EA (via EA Partners), Activision, Ubisoft, Microsoft, and of course, Bethesda. I can only imagine how much it will cost to snag their next title,” said Cheng.

Cheng also said even Sony Computer Entertainment can publish the title but it is "unlikely."

“There is one more publisher who could get into the game: Sony. That would be interesting. Unlikely.”

Bungie has already stated a publishing deal is close to closing.

  1. If Sony does get the new IP from Bungie, i will be really excited and also a lot of 360 gamers who played halo will probably, buy a PS3 because of the new IP. But i hope this IP is multi-plat so Bungie can make it on both consoles, not just limited to one console.

If it comes down to just money I think its safe to say MS will take it. And if Sony or MS get it it will be exclusive.
