Other than Castle Crashers for PlayStation 3, The Behemoth is working on a third untitled game as well. Over at the SDCC, the developer is demonstrating the game and giving some hands on time to lucky gamers.
The game has not been given a genre yet, but it seems to be progressing very well. The demo shown on the showfloor was running on the Xbox 360, however, platforms have not been confirmed yet. The game is set in 2D environments scattered across colorful blocks. The demo on the floor contains three mini-games.
1UP has the first hands-on. “Each game is set-up for two-on-two matches: Soul Snatcher, a capture-the-flag mode where you jump on your opponents’ heads and then collect the Pac-Man-like ghosts that leave their bodies; Grab the Gold, a race to knock nuggets (“poop”) out of a flying golden whale and then collect them; and Paint the World, where each team tries to touch as many of the blocks in the environment as possible in the time allotted.
Each character can punch, double-jump, use a projectile attack (like a frisbee or grenade), reach down to help their partner make a higher-than-normal jump, and toss their partner around the room.”
The Behemoth has promised that their third game is not just a collection of mini-games and will feature a large campaign mode of some sort. However, they’re not going too much into detail. Read on for the first clips.
