Turns out that the recently announced Metal Gear Solid: Rising is not going to be released only on Xbox 360. It appears that Microsoft was just the first group to dish out details on the Raiden-starring game. That’s why Microsoft didn’t go around bragging about the game being an Xbox 360 exclusive.
“You know, we didn’t say that it was exclusive,” clarified Xbox executive and corporate VP John Schappert (the guy who held Microsoft’s press conference) in an interview held after the conference.
“We said that the next Metal Gear will be coming [to Xbox 360],” he said.
“I couldn’t be more excited about him [Kojima] working on that [Metal Gear Solid Rising] and having that be part of our show,” said Schappert. “When I heard about that, I was pretty ecstatic and it was an honor to be able to be on stage with him and announcing his next Metal Gear, which will be on Xbox 360.”
With the conference being only about the Xbox 360, Shappert wasn’t exactly going to go mention a PlayStation 3 version. There you have it though, you’ll see this on the PlayStation 3 as well, Sony fans.

It doesn’t matter if it’s not exclusive. The fact that MS has managed to nearly every major third-party franchise from Sony means that MS continues to win the console war against Sony. It’s like the proverbial Lebron James issue where team that beat EVERYONE at one point is now wondering what went wrong and how they’re not on top.
This is HUGE for MS and continues to show that the US market is the only market that really matters. Even with MS doing as bad as they are in Japan they’re getting all the Japanese game companies to pay attention to how well they’re doing here.
And Sony hasn’t managed to take nearly every big third-party franchise from MS? Lol, that’s a laugh. Sony just aren’t pompous asses about it. And failing to see, how a franchise(which was never exculsive to PS systems) going to the 360 is “big”.
