Ghostbusters Becomes Timed PlayStation Exclusive

A new deal was announced in Sydney today between Sony Computer Entertainment and Atari to help publish and distribute the upcoming Ghostbusters game. While the game was originally announced for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2 and DS, only the PlayStation 3 and PS2 versions will release on June 19th. As part of the publishing deal, Sony has gained timed exclusive rights. Another thing to consider is that the Ghostbusters IP is owned by Columbia, a Sony movie studio.

As for the Xbox 360, Wii and DS release dates, “We’re still waiting on official dates,” Atari stated. The release will still be sometime in 2009.
