Recoil Games, founded by Remedy Entertainment co-founder Samuli Syvahuoko, is working on a story driven action–adventure eco-themed first person shooter for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Earth No More, as it’s called, is what happens when the Earth takes a stand against humans. Nature changes as players progress and the world is overgrown with life.
Earth No More features an apocalyptic type of landscape, which can be compared to games such as Fallout 3. Syvahuoko says that this trend is “kind of fitting and logical that the settings in games and also movies are following similar themes” since “the world is going through some rough times that affect everyone living on the planet.”
The Unreal Engine 3 takes its place as the game’s engine, however, Recoil has thrown in many enhancements and additions, including their own rendering engine, to make the game “stand out and feel unique.” The team also has a goal of “pushing the graphical envelope” and it can be clearly seen in the first two screenshots of the game.
As for Earth No More‘s release date, nothing can be said yet. “We are keeping all the doors open for now. Once we have a publisher in the picture, we will figure all this stuff out. ”
The first screenshots can be seen at the gallery.
