Resident Evil 5 Ships Over Four Million

Capcom has announced today that the numbers from their first shipment of Resident Evil 5 copies from their headquarters in Osaka, Japan, have came in. The world-wide total resulted in over 4 million units of Resident Evil 5 shipped.
This would bring the Residentn Evil series to a total of over 40 million since the series debuted in March 1996. Congratulations Capcom!

Like the Gran Turismo series, you either love it or hate it and appreciate it for its nuances and even its shortcomings because it’s less about what might frustrate you as a gamer and more about the brand recognition of the franchise.
Still, with numbers like 4 million (let’s see how many of those actually morph into actual units sold) it’s hard to argue that the game is doing okay for itself despite some of the outrage of the change in the series’ direction and the stop and shoot (and stop and stab) control scheme.
Big number but it should of been resident evil 4 getting these numbers not resident evil 5 but of well.
