A new off-screen video of the first (controller-played) God of War III gameplay has surfaced on YouTube. The game is currently on display at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The new gameplay shows Kratos kicking a beasts ass and then controlling him.

The graphics look really sharp and the gameplay looks fluid. I’d like to give it a couple rounds. Read on for the video.

I’m really excited for the game but on the other hand I’m not too thrilled about the fact that game seems to be more of the same with prettier graphics. Sure controlling those big orks looks cool but if you notice when Kratos jumps back it’s the same animation sequence from all the other previous games.

I know, I know, “if ain’t broke…” but it would’ve been nice to see them take a few more risks or at least add a little more flair or something to his movement.

Still, looks great and I can’t wait to play it as I’m sure, like the trailer showed, some of the locations in the game will probably be mind blowing.
