Paramount Pictures are preparing a big promotion for their upcoming Watchmen movie. They’ll be using Sony’s PlayStation Home and give gamers exclusive footage, a filmmaker Q&A, and costumes for your avatar.

Of course, these costumes will come at a price. Starting February 27th, players will be able to purchase costumes of Nite Owl and Rorschach, as well as shirts with their signature smiley face on it, and a doomsday clock.

On March 6th, Paramoutn will host a filmmaker Q&A from within PlayStation Home, with movie director Zack Snyder and graphic novel artist Dave Gibbons providing the answers. However, only ten guests will be allowed to attend, but it will be streamed across the net.

I’m so done with Home but I’m glad to see that it’s getting some new and dare I say interesting content. Although I doubt it’ll bring any kind of real excitement or new interest in Home. Similar to the PS3 itself Home doesn’t really seem to have an x-factor. Nothing that really separates it from anything different from a Facebook or MySpace experience.

I was tempted to actually delete it from my XMB but figured that at some point I’ll have a compelling reason to go back in there so I’ll hang onto it. But for now Home is about as useless as the PS Eye, which has about as much potential as Home and about as useless at this point.

I don’t want to get on a rant about how Sony is screwing up because in about 2 weeks I’ll be singing their praises when I’m finally playing Killzone 2. Not to mention the giddiness I’ll be showing when Uncharted 2 and God of War III are finally released (still waiting on the tears I’ll be shedding when Team ICO finally reveals whatever it is they’re working on ’cause you just know that it’s going to blow everyone’s mind).
