Developed by Surreal Software and Midway Games, This is Vegas, a game about living it up in Las Vegas while trying to stop a mega-corporation from transforming Vegas into a family friendly tourist trap, was set to be released last fall. It was eventually pushed back and delayed from it’s original date and no info has appeared about this game since.
We all know about Midway’s financial problems, having to fire 25% of it’s workforce and canceling some upcoming projects. Was This is Vegas caught in the crossfire… or did it survive to see the eventual sunlight of retail stores? Midway Games’ main page lists This is Vegas right next to the anticipated action game staring Vin Diesel, The Wheelman, yet, a release date is still to be announced and This is Vegas still doesn’t have an ESRB rating. Amazon.com states that This is Vegas will be released March 2nd, 2009.
Then again, Amazon.com cannot be trusted.
Surreal Software, developers of This is Vegas do have a blog, wherein they would occasionally update readers on the progress of This is Vegas. Sadly, the last posting was back in July 11th, of last year. The last bit of public info was released in time for the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June, and after that, things were silent.

Maybe This is Vegas was canceled, maybe Amazon.com is right and the game will be released March 2nd, 2008. Either way, This is Vegas looked like an interesting game and it would be a shame if it was never released… or if the project got canned.
At least an official site exists.
