Supposedly, a reliable source has told Second Story Gamer that Electronic Arts‘ sequel to the 2007 sci-fi RPG, Mass Effect, will be hitting the PlayStation 3 along with the Xbox 360 and PC releases due to “the economic outlook”.
Electronic Arts is tryingn to get as much money as it can due to the current state of the economy. Making Mass Effect multiplatform would increase sales as well as the amount of people playing the game.
The source also says that Electronic Arts will “likely” port the original release of Mass Effect to the PlayStation 3, releasing in mid-2009, such as 2K Games did with BioShock.
The source stated that the announcement will be made at the Game Developers Conference in late March. So until then, we’ll put down the rumor stamp.
