Ouch. SouthPeak Interactive’s upcoming burn-in first-person shooter, Section 8, has been canceled for the PlayStation 3. The Xbox 360 and PC, however, will get the joy of having the game.

This information comes from SouthPeak PR, saying that “Section 8 is coming out for PC AND Xbox 360. Just thought you should know, since you sounded kind of disappointed (not that I would blame you)” when a confused writer asked due to only a mention of the PC version in the press release.

As for PlayStation 3 owners, there’s still Killzone 2. =]

I could blame the recession (or are officially in a depression now?) but games getting canceled on the PS3 is, sadly, about as natural and common as snow in Aspen.

In other words, the PS3 continues to get the cold shoulder when it comes to games in development.

The trailer looked awesome but since there’s no gameplay to show me what I’d be missing I don’t really see the need to shed a tear over this game. And as you say, KZ2 is coming. I don’t think we’ll need any other shooters for a while once that game hits.
