In the 1/23 issue of Famitsu, they’ve interviewed 21 gaming creators to celebrate the new year. Developers interviewed include Yoshinori Kitase, Hideo Kojima, Hiroshi Matsuyama, Yoshinori Ono, Jun Takeuchi, Toshihiro Nagoshi and more. They all give us their insights on 2009 as well as what they thought of 2008.
Yoshinori Kitase, who’s currently working on Final Fantasy XIII, says in 2009 he wants to speed up production on the game and hopes that the PlayStation 3 will become more popular. The PlayStation 3 must have attractive games to increase the console’s attach-rate, Kitase says.
He tells us that future news on Final Fantasy XIII will focus more on gameplay and less on cut-scenes that we’ve been continuously seeing. The upcoming demo, bundled with Advent Children Complete, will only focus on “the basics” of the game and give gamers a chance to try out the new battle system.
Some other interesting tidbits in that in the interview with Hiroshi Matsuyama from CyberConnect 2, he says that although .hack//Link was just announced for the PSP, they have another new title from them this year. Toshihiro Nagoshi from Sega, who’s currently working on Yakuza 3, says that he also has a new title that will be announced soon.
Hideo Kojima was also interviewed, where he says that this year he will be working on his new game that will hopefully release soon and also thinking about following a new direction with Metal Gear Online.
