GC ’08: SCEE Says Mirror’s Edge Is Timed Exclusive for PS3
by [@salromano] at 07:53 PM EDT, August 23, 2008 .

In an interview with a Germran tech site, SCEE’s David Reeves stated at this year’s Games Convention in Leipzig that EA’s Mirror’s Edge is a timed exclusive for the PLAYSTATION 3. A look at the translation can be seen below.

The PS3 will be continuously supplied with exclusive games: “We are continuously, month after month publish new titles that bring something unique and different target groups. In a month, it is Gran Turismo, in the next SingStar, as well as Third-Party Title as mirrors Edge by Electronic Arts are part of this strategy. “ According to Reeves Mirrors Edge will initially exclusively for the PS3 this year. PC and Xbox 360 versions would follow much later.

If this is true, we will still wait for an official confirmation from Electronic Arts. Although, it would be great for Sony, but they should really start securing some RPGs rather than FPS after FPS.

What other FPS has sony obtained exclusive rites for? And for mirrors Edge it sounds more like that the development for the PS3 version is just ahead of the 360 version, and will be released 1st.

Sony does not buy 3rd party exclusivity where MS does. But I however think this is a better timed exclusive from EA then Rock band 2.

SAL I couldn’t agree with you more, they need to start securing RPGs here. Quite frankly I could give a rats a** for anymore FPS or just shooters in general right now.
