Following the announcement of Final Fantasy XIII coming to the Xbox 360, Square Enix held a press conference answering questions about the announcement. As of now, no development on the Xbox 360 version has actually been started, and it own’t be started until the PLAYSTATION 3 version has been completed.
“We’re ready to start developing FF13 for 360,” said Square Enix’s Shinji Hashimoto. “First, we will complete the game for PS3 in Japan, then begin localization for America and Europe while developing the 360 version simultaneously. The PS3 and 360 versions will be released at the same time outside of Japan — although, due to language and other conditions, the game may not be released simultaneously across territories.”
So Japan is getting the game for the PLAYSTATION 3 first, then the States and other territories get it on the PLAYSTATION 3 with the Xbox 360 version after it is translated and ported. That is good and all for Xbox 360 users, but it kind of causes a delay due to the fact they have to develop it for the Xbox 360 as well. There is always importing. Remember: PS3 is region-free.
